In addition to the Raw Brass snare drum announced last week, Ludwig Drums is set for a busy 2018, with new kits, new hardware and a new (old) finish back from the 1960s being launched at the upcoming NAMM show. Fresh on the stand will be Ludwig’s NeuSonic kits.
The kits feature six ply maple/cherry hybrid shells with pre-set bass drum spurs, and come in four wrap finishes. Also new is Ludwig’s Evolution hardware, which comprises a hi hat stand, snare drum stand, bass drum pedal and twin boom stands.
Finally, commemorating John Densmore of The Doors and celebrating the 50th year of Mod Orange, The Doors, and the “Swinging’ Scene”, Ludwig is reissuing Mod Orange for all USA series drums: Legacy, Classic Maple, Keystone X and Club Date. Like all other Vintage Oyster finish offerings from Ludwig, these are authentically produced by a hand blending process of materials to re-create the look.
