With a huge number of visitor requests, organisers of The UK Drum Show are very pleased to confirm Craig Blundell will appear on the main stage at next years event in association with Mapex Drums and Paiste Cymbals.
Craig is recognized in the top handful of “Progressive” drummers, educators and clinicians in the world. Over his decades of playing and studying, he’s dedicated hour upon hour studying his trade and gradually built up his profile and reputation over the last few years as a true ambassador for British drumming on the international scene. He took a step back from clinics and drum festivals in 2015 to concentrate on his work with Steven Wilson where he was the drummer for two successful world tours over four years. In that time Craig also played on many albums including several lonely robot albums and “Falling Satellites” by *Frost, a band he’s recently been reunited with for a tour in November
Millions of people a day listen to his recording and programming work on television, radio globally every day whether it be radio jingles, or TV theme tunes, most recently Toast of Tinseltown with his long term musical collaborator Matt Berry of which they produced two albums, The Blue Elephant and Phantom Birds.
He has played in many different settings and genres over the years, from serving in the Royal Marines Corps of Drums aged 16 to performing at the world’s biggest drum festivals. He has performed with members of many iconic bands but it’s the Progressive genre where he is establishing himself globally and where he’s most at home. Craig is currently on his second world tour with Steve Hackett. He still works with many companies on the developments of their products, most notable, Mapex and his signature “Machine” snare drum and over 15 products for Roland.
Craig’s clinics are a real event and always get well received all over the world. He’s not been in this setting for quite some time, it’ll be one not to miss!
