Drum Workshop, Inc. (DW) announces the Design Series® Limited Mapa Burl over European Birch, a striking new shell-pack that brings DW’s signature exotic aesthetics to the accessible, custom-inspired Design Series lineup.
Available for the first time with legendary DW exotic woods, this limited Design Series release pairs a highly figured Mapa Burl veneers over 8-ply shells crafted with DW’s patented HVLT™ grain-orientation technology. The result is a responsive, stage- and studio-ready tonality with ample attack, focused projection, and controlled resonance suited to a wide range of playing styles.
Designed with pro-level appointments throughout, these Mapa Burl over Birch drums feature low-mass mini turret lugs, graduated triple-flange hoops, STM™ Suspension Tom Mounts, True-Pitch® Tuning, and Remo® heads. An understated natural matte lacquer finish gives the kit a sophisticated look that’s tailor-made for stage or studio.
The collection includes two configurations: a 6-piece shell pack or a 4-piece shell pack, as well as a matching 6.5×14” snare drum (sold separately).
