DW Announce New Additions To Their Popular Pedal Family

0

Drum Workshop Inc. recently announced the addition of a Single Chain Pedal (AH4) to their classic 5000 Series hardware line. This new addition to the series gives drummers more choice than ever before and is available in a single and double pedal option.
The original DW 5000 Pedal changed drumming forever when it was introduced nearly four decades ago, rapidly becoming an industry standard and the favorite of the world’s top drummers.
The new pedals feature all the latest design features including the Tri-Pivot Toe Clamp™, lightweight aluminum bass plate with new rubber grip surface, a Dual-Bearing Spring Rocker, Accelerator™ cam, the popular 101 two-way beater and more.

DW Single Drive Pedal – Single

The unmistakable playability of a single chain and sprocket drive system remains the favorite of many pedal aficionados. To that end, DW now offer the 5000AH4, a single chain Accelerator™ cam model complete with the original retro 5000 footboard shape. Existing 5000 Series pedals available in Accelerator™ and Turbo™ drive models remain available.
DW founder Don Lombardi explained, “The 5000 pedal is the very foundation of our company.  Since the early days, we’ve released many new models, but through it all, the 5000 has remained a top choice.  That’s the greatest compliment we can receive.  This new model gives players the feel of the original single chain-and-sprocket 5 with some of our latest advancements.  We think drummers will love it!”

Ludwig Timpani Herald A New Era

0

For more than 35 years, the Ludwig Timpani have set the standard for performance in bands and orchestras around the world. Ludwig is proud to announce a design update to all Grand Symphonic, Professional, and Standard Series Timpani. All three lines of Timpani have been updated with incredible new features to improve the functionality and mobility.

Ludwig Timpani Tuning Dial

New tuning gauge placement will allow each Timpani to be configured with American or German set-up, with all tuning gauge linkage being removed from the pedal and seamlessly transferred under the base.

Ludwig Timpani Improved Portability

A permanent third Omni wheel has been added under the pedal. This wheel allows 360º fluid movement, allowing the player to have total control of drum placement. An industry first for Timpani. Further improvements have been made to the rear casters including upgraded braking, larger size wheels with a quick release function. This allows smooth movement and the ability to quickly remove rear casters to enable access through narrow doorways.

The international launch of these breathtaking new instruments takes places at The NAMM Show in January 2019.

Code Drum Heads expands line-up

0

Code Drum Heads has added The Pocket Pad and Halo Tone Adapter to its range of products and is also adding more sizes of its popular bass drum Port Holes.

The Code Pocket Pad is made entirely in the UK, distributor Active Music says: ‘An ideal size to carry in your stick bag, tour case or pocket, this small pad is perfect for any sticking practice and the 3.5” playing surface is ideal for honing your accuracy. The pad is engineered with a heavy steel plate built into the body which will keep the pad well and truly planted on any solid playing surface. The specially developed pad features a fast and realistic feel which won’t be cruel to your wrists even after a heavy practice session’.

Halo Enhanced

The Halo Tone Adapter is designed to assist snare drum tuning. The pack comprises one super wide black and one medium sized white Halo. The two Halos can be used together to give users a ‘Super Dead Heavyweight’ sound or individually to give contrasting dampening options. ‘Whichever combination you use those annoying overtones will be gone and the depth of your snare will cut through,’ Active says.

Both the Pocket Pad and Halo Tone Adapters will be available from January 2019.

Code Porthole

Meanwhile, Code has added bass drum portholes in 2”, 3” and 6” sizes. These are available alongside the current 4” and 5” in sizes. Each Port Hole now features an embossed Code logo. Black Port Holes in these sizes are available now, with the white scheduled for 2019.

Introducing: UltiMusician Drumblocks

0

UltiMusician has recently unveiled their new range of accessories aimed at helping kits stay perfectly in-place as well as keeping your stands and drums in the same position each time you set-up. Drumblocks simply slide into place around your stands and bass drum spurs to stop any unwanted movement, even under the heaviest of playing onslaughts, and can be kept in-situe when you fold the accompanying drum mat away after each performance.

Each of the blocks are colour coded, so that you can set your stands up in the same position each and every time, which also helps to minimise set-up time.
