BIOGRAPHY:

Hailed by The New York Times as “a drummer around whom a cult of admiration has formed,” Grammy-nominated superstar drummer & composer Mark Guiliana brings an adventurous spirit, eclectic palette, and gift for spontaneous invention to a staggering range of styles. Equally virtuosic playing acoustic jazz, boundary-stretching electronic music, or next-level rock, he’s become a key collaborator with such original sonic thinkers as St. Vincent, Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam / Soundgarden), Brad Mehldau, M83, Meshell Ndegeocello, and the late, great David Bowie.

Guiliana’s latest release ‘MARK’, is his first entirely solo work which boldly showcases him as composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist – performing and layering percussion, piano, synthesizers and more. This new foray into his growing body of renowned work, recorded at Studio 606 in Los Angeles, is a culmination of Guiliana’s experiences and inspirations, and at the same time the catalyst of a new direction. ‘MARK’ follows his first two acclaimed Edition Records albums ‘the sound of listening’ and ‘Mischief’.

Roland Introduces Mood Pan

0

Roland has today introduced Mood Pan, a unique electronic hand percussion instrument that encourages anyone to discover the restorative power of music. Inspired by acoustic handpans, Mood Pan features tranquil tones and a simple design requiring no previous musical skills. Along with providing immersive audio for the onboard sounds, its built-in 2.1 speaker system can also play soothing background music and stream Bluetooth audio from mobile devices.

Mood Pan is made for mindful people and modern musicians seeking a versatile and expressive new instrument. It blends the soulful resonance of acoustic handpans with multiple sound variations and other flexible features made possible with Roland’s advanced percussion technology. While many musical instruments require learning and skill development, this can be enjoyed by everyone, with no experience or special technique necessary.

The electronic design of Mood Pan offers many benefits over traditional handpans. Users can explore different instruments and tunings, enhance sounds with onboard effects, and silence the onboard speaker by plugging in headphones for quiet solo sessions.

Mood Pan can be placed on the user’s lap or a tabletop. The instrument is played with finger taps, and its nine pads can be assigned to different musical scales, making it impossible to hit a wrong note. It’s also possible to tap the sides with the palms to create percussive sounds and resonant tonalities, mute sounds with a touch, and use a special control pad to add expressive colors to certain tones.

Selectable sounds include handpan and other acoustic percussion such as tongue drum, gamelan, crystal bowl, and singing bowl. There’s also a sitar voice, orchestral strings, synth pad tones, and four user locations with selectable sound variations.

Mood Pan offers environmental music and nature sounds, along with four modes to play soft soundtracks for mornings, evenings, relaxing, and yoga sessions. It also doubles as a high-quality Bluetooth speaker for streaming music from a smartphone or tablet.

The Mood Pan Plus app is the perfect partner to extend the experience. Users can adjust the onboard sounds, choose different environmental sounds and effects, and fine-tune the pad sensitivity. The app also includes additional sounds for loading into Mood Pan’s four onboard user locations.

Availability & Pricing

The Mood Pan is available for USD $659.99.

Biography

“Steve is my kind of drummer. The drummer is like the foundation of a house. Everything else comes from that core place of stability. When I’m performing I don’t want to be distracted by fluctuations in the ground that’s supporting me, the tempo or groove. That’s my boy Steve. He’s right there in the pocket… always.
Economy, consistency and power. He’s the man for the job” – ANNIE LENNOX
________________

Barney’s rock-solid drumming has taken him around the world many times, playing with a whole host of rock-pop royalty.

Probably best known for touring with Eurythmics legend, Annie Lennox and US singer, Anastacia … but additionally with Jeff Beck, Mike + The Mechanics, Sugababes, The Wanted, Eagle-Eye Cherry & Kelis

Internationally, tours with Japanese guitarist HOTEI (Tomoyasu Hotei), Italian-legend Gianna Nannini and Belgian pop star, Natalia.

An historic day of international charity concerts organised by the Band Aid Trust.

Most recently, 2025 touring & recording with ERA (a French project he began working with in 2019).

Rewind to 1994 … Steve migrated to Liverpool (from Norfolk) in search of his drumming dream. It’sAdamBecksDrums To Exhibit At The UK Drum Show 2025

UK-based drummer / tutor Adam Beck has recently joined the ever-growing list of exhibitors for The UK Drum Show 2025.

“Throughout my 10+ years as a drummer I have learnt a lot about this instrument and have gained many experiences playing music with various bands across the UK and Europe especially with my Black Metal band to which I am also a full-time member of this group. My dedication to drumming has remained consistent from the moment I began to present day.

My drumming style is rooted in versatility, and while I’m comfortable across a wide range of genres, I have a strong background and particular passion for metal. That said, I can teach students in everything from rock and punk to funk and pop, tailoring lessons to suit everyone’s goals and musical interests.

Despite being Essex based, I teach in Greenwich which is in Southeast London. This is because there is much more opportunity in the city, and it is the perfect place to branch out to various people and welcome all genres and styles.

I like my lessons to be full of fun, personality and inspiration. Every single lesson I provide as much assistance as possible. As someone who has a diagnosis of Autism I have personally faced having to learn in different ways to most people, because of this I offer unlimited ways of reaching whatever goals drummers would like to achieve as I believe that everyone has a chance to become a terrific drummer.

In these lessons, I will provide a three piece drum kit that students can learn on while having my own drum kit where I can show them all types of techniques and rudimentary patterns around the kit, this can also be used to show exactly where to start on the drum kit how to get great results as a beginner.

Whether you’re looking to lay down solid tracks in the studio, add dynamic energy to live performances, or you’re a student aiming to sharpen your drumming skills, I bring a blend of professional experience and personalised teaching to every session.”

Join Adam at The UK Drum Show on the weekend of 18th & 19th October at ACC Liverpool. Tickets available: HERE
